More news of another popular restaurant that looks to be coming to Bricktown.

This week, Pops will begin the first step in the process of putting a location in Bricktown, adding to a growing number of new businesses planning on making Bricktown home.

The new Pops will be part of the Chickasaw tourism center in Bricktown. The Chickasaw tribe is also expanding their presence in Bricktown, that's in addition to a hotel, apartments, and another restaurant that are all down the road.

Pop's Route 66 location has been quenching the thirst of Route 66 travelers for five years. Now excitement is bubbling up about a new location in Bricktown .

"We had a great run out here in Arcadia and route 66 and we're just thrilled and excited to take that one of a kind experience from Pops and move it down to Bricktown," said Marty Doepke, the general manager of Pops.

The new restaurant will be the same concept of pop and food as the Arcadia original.

Nearby the Chickasaw nation will expand their tourism center and add a Bedre chocolate shop.

Kevin Durant also plans to put in a restaurant west of Toby Keith's.

Workers will break ground this summer for a Hilton Garden/Homewood Suites hotel on the east edge of Bricktown. Apartments are planned across the intersection.

"There's a lot of activity right now and we're excited about it," said Jeannette Smith with the Bricktown association.

At the Bricktown Association, they say property owners are always looking for new opportunities. But new apartments more family friendly restaurants will serve up a bigger variety.

"It helps add to diversity in the neighborhood," said Smith. "I think everyone would like to see this neighborhood become a 24-hour neighborhood where there is lots of life and vitality during the day as well as evening."

If all goes as planned, the new Pops could be open by next summer.
