Mother Of Murdered Girl Files Lawsuit Against Oklahoma DHS
OKLAHOMA CITY - The mother of 5-year-old Serenity Deal files a lawsuit against the Department of Human Services. The young girl died while in the custody of her father.
Samantha Deal, who's serving time for child molestation, is asking for a million dollars for herself and a million more for each of her two remaining daughters.
Just before Serenity's 2011 beating death, DHS released her from foster care and placed her with her father, Sean Brooks.
He plead guilty to second-degree murder in December was sentenced to life in prison.
