Mike Cervenak and Luke Montz each hit a three-run homer Thursday night to help the New Orleans Zephyrs throttle the Oklahoma City RedHawks 11-1.

The Zephyrs scored early and often, posting crooked run totals in four separate innings.

Brian Bass (1-4) took the loss for the RedHawks, but he didn't get much help from his defense. The RedHawks committed three errors that led to four unearned runs for New Orleans.

The only OKC offense came in the top of the ninth inning, when Mike Hessman slugged his 27th homer of the year to centerfield to break the shutout.

The loss marked the first in five games for Oklahoma City, as well as the second game in a stretch of nine straight against the Zephyrs.

The RedHawks continue the series in New Orleans Friday night at 7 p.m.
