As many as 55,000 people were expected to show for Sunday night's big fireworks display "Rockets Over RHEMA."

Family activities started at 5 p.m. and with the fireworks display going off at 10 p.m.

Because of the crowds, BA police have closed Kenosha (71st Street) from Aspen (145th East Avenue) to Elm Place (161st East Avenue) from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Drivers should expect significant delays due to construction on Elm Place from Kenosha to Houston (81st Street South), according to Sergeant Ed Ferguson of the Broken Arrow Police Department.

The event began at 5 p.m. with a patriotic tribute in the RHEMA Bible Church Auditorium. Then at 6 p.m., there were inflatable games, face painting, a mechanical bull and rock climbing wall. There was also a car show and many vendor booths with All-American treats like hot dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes and shaved ice.

Music started at 6:30 p.m. with performances by Group 1 Crew, Jimmy Needham, Aaron Gillespie, The City Harmonic and The AXIS Worship Band.
