If the Oklahoma City Thunder wins the NBA finals, children in the Miami-Dade-County Public School district will soon learn a little more about Oklahoma history.

Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) Superintendent Karl Springer agreed to a friendly wager with Miami Superintendent Alberto Carvalho. If the Thunder wins, Carvalho will wear an OKC jersey and teach a lesson on Oklahoma history to Miami-Dade County students. If the Heat wins, Springer will put on a Miami jersey and teach Florida history to an OKCPS class. Springer is confident Carvalho will be the one wearing Thunder blue and teaching Florida kids a few things about the Sooner State.

"I am looking forward to seeing the pictures from Miami when Mr. Carvalho wears the OKC Thunder blue, said Oklahoma City Public School Superintendent Karl Springer. "I have full confidence in our team and this is a great chance for Floridians to learn more about Oklahoma City and our state."

Carvalho says he's sure Oklahoma City children will like learning about Miami's "rich history" once the Heat wins the NBA championship.

Classes resume in Oklahoma City Public School on August 1, while students return to school in Miami on August 20.
