Oklahoma shot put standout Tia Brooks added yet another major point on her resume Friday, claiming her first-ever NCAA Championship with a throw of 18.44 meters in Des Moines, Iowa.

Brooks has been a consistent producer in her three years throwing for Oklahoma, claiming back-to-back indoor Big 12 indoor championships and in 2012 claimed her first-ever outdoor title. She also holds the school record for both indoor and outdoor throws, tossing 19.00 meters indoor and 18.47 outdoor.

The redshirt junior netted 10 points for the Oklahoma Women's team, which sat in third-place overall after 14 events.
