A Tulsa tradition is celebrating 40 years with hundreds of classic cars. The Leake Car Auction opened Friday at the QuikTrip Center at the Fairgrounds.

They're expecting to sell about 750 cars this weekend.

The auction started in 1972 with most of the first cars coming from James C. Leake's personal collection.

Since then it's evolved into something for everyone.

"This is an awesome experience. You don't even have to love cars," said Jennifer Tetley, Leake Car Auction.

"Just to look at the automotive history we have here with us today. We have a lot of Pre-War cars, lost of Post-War cars, muscle cars, the Carol Shelby cars - a lot to see, a lot to do, a lot to watch."
