Last night's hail storm sent many running for cover, parking cars under highway overpasses and gas station awnings including one at the On Cue station at Eastern and Memorial.

Drivers went anywhere they could to take cover, and gas stations proved to be popular spots. It would have been difficult to fit just one more car under the awning at the On Cue station at Eastern and Memorial.

Video was taken by News 9 Meteorologist Nick Bender shortly after he was forced off the road last night on his way to work. Even some people who were able to get their cars under the awning still received damage on their vehicles from the hail. That's because of the strong winds that blew the ice in from all directions.

Brittani Johnson was working at the gas station when Tuesday night's storms rolled in.

"It was like cars bumper-to-bumper. There was like three rows this way. It was crazy. It was coming in from all directions. People were freaking out. Everyone that was out in their car was inside, so there was like hundreds of people inside," said Johnson.

Just like many people throughout the metro, there were some people hit by hail at the gas station, but there were no reports of serious injuries at the gas station.
