Battery Explosion Injures Two At OKC Business

Two people were burned when a lithium battery exploded Thursday morning at a south Oklahoma City business.

Two people were burned when a lithium battery exploded Thursday morning at a south Oklahoma City business.

The battery exploded while in a canister at Teledrift in the 9000 block of Pole Road near Interstate 35 and S.E. 89th Street. The workers were taken to a hospital with non-critical burns to their hands. One victim also had burns on his face.

It's not known yet what caused the battery to explode.
