The Oklahoma Sooners added a big recruit to the 2013 class in four-star rated quarterback Cody Thomas.
According to ESPN, Thomas' dad Pete Thomas confirmed his commitment to the Sooners saying he informed OU's Coach Josh Heupel Tuesday of his intentions to go to Oklahoma.
Thomas is a 6'5, 220 pound pro-style QB out of Colleyville Texas' Heritage High School.
Last year as a junior, Thomas threw for 3,296 yards with 36 touchdowns.
Thomas was one of the top targets of Heupel and the Sooners who now have a total of seven commitments in the 2013 class.
He is also a highly touted baseball commit. ESPN reports that Thomas took an unofficial visit to OU in late March and stayed in contact with Heupel through the busy baseball season. The report goes on to say that Heupel visited Thomas in Texas recently before offering him the scholarship opportunity.
Thomas is ranked 11th among high school pocket-passing recruits.
He also had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida Intl., Iowa, LSU, Michigan State, Mississippi, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Texas Tech, USA, Utah State, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
