The Oklahoma Sooners made it five straight Saturday thanks to a 9-3 win over the Texas Longhorns, clinching a win in the weekend series in the process.

Trailing 2-0 early on, Oklahoma hung six of its nine boards in the fourth inning thanks to Texas miscues, putting the game comfortably in their corner early on.

After the first two batters reached base via a walk and a hit by pitch, Erica Sampson singled through the left side, bringing Callie Parsons home to cut the deficit to 2-1. An attempted sacrifice bunt from Brianna Turang brought Georgia Casey home, tying the game, but Turang reached on an error.

Jessica Vest was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat, loading the bases, and Katie Norris drew a full count walk to bring Sampson home to take a 3-2 advantage. Two at-bats later with the bases still loaded, Keilani Ricketts doubled to center field, clearing the bases and giving Oklahoma a 6-2 lead heading into the fifth inning.

Ricketts drove in two more runs with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth, and Jessica Shults homered in the next at-bat giving OU a 9-2 lead.

Michelle Gascoigne was credited with a win for her work, allowing two earned runs on seven hits in four innings of service. Rachel Fox was credited with a loss, giving up four earned runs on four hits in four innings of service.

Oklahoma will try to go for the series sweep against the Longhorns at noon Sunday.
