An Oklahoma City man has been arrested after police say he threatened to kill his girlfriend and attacked her.

Arthur Mendoza Holguin, 41, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on domestic abuse and assault and battery charges.

Officers responded to a domestic abuse call from the victim on Friday, April 27, at a house located in the 2600 block of S.W. 38th Street.

Holguin was in front of the house when police arrived. Officers made contact with him and placed him in the backseat of a patrol car while they investigated the case.

Police then spoke with Holguin's girlfriend. She said they had gotten into an argument earlier and Holguin became very angry. According to the police report, Holguin then picked up a large machete and said to the victim, "tell me where you were. I'm gonna kill you."

Holguin, police said, put the machete down and walked toward the victim. He then grabbed the victim by the throat and slammed her onto a table. The victim was able to get up and ran to a neighbor's house to call police.

Officers say they saw red marks around the victim's neck and a dime-sized bruise on her right shoulder.

Police say while they were en route to the jail, Holguin said "I'll get you. Just you wait," as he looked at the victim through the back window of the patrol car.

The victim wants to press charges against Holguin, according to police.
