The Oklahoma City Barons had little trouble in the opening round of the Calder Cup Playoffs against the Houston Aeros, taking the series 3-1, including three wins of three goals or more. However, the Barons may face a stiffer opponent in the second round, taking on another team from the Lone Star State, the San Antonio Rampage.

It will be a battle of conflicting styles as the two teams face off in the second round, with the Rampage advancing thanks due in large part to its offense, while Oklahoma City has relied on its goalkeeping all season to get the job done.

The Rampage fields no one, but two of the top scorers in the playoffs, one of which was a top 20 scorer in the regular season as well. Jon Matsumoto leads the charge for SA, with nine points in Calder Cup play – three goals and six assists – after scoring 60 points in the regular season. James Wright has been nearly as prolific for the Rampage, scoring six points, on a pair of goals and four assists.

However, Oklahoma City star Yann Dannis (3-0) hopes to change their fortunes in the second round. The 11-year veteran is the top goalie in the playoffs, giving up just three goals on 130 shots for a whopping 97.7 percent save rate. His production doesn't drop off as the sample size increases either, finishing second in the regular season, allowing 88 goals in 43 games, finishing the regular season with a save rate of 92.4 percent.

Additionally, Oklahoma City has the option of sending David LeNeveu into the next as well, who managed who gave up just 72 goals in 34 appearances for a save rate of 91.8 percent.

The puck drops on the seven-game series at 7 p.m. Saturday in Oklahoma City. The Barons and the Rampage split the regular season series 4-4.
