OKC Memorial Marathon To Take Place On Sunday

The 12th Annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, April 29.

The event honors those who lost their lives in the 1995 bombing. It will also benefit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, located at 620 North Harvey Avenue.

Organizers say more than 25,000 runners are expected to participate in the marathon this year.

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon has contributed $3 million to the Memorial since it started 12 years ago, according to officials. 

The marathon is also the largest fundraiser the Memorial has each year. Event organizers say it is critical to the upkeep and maintenance since the Memorial & Museum receive no annual appropriations from the city, state or federal governments.
