Charges are dismissed against a Tecumseh father accused of killing his infant daughter.
According to court records, a first degree manslaughter charge against 34-year-old Steven Howard Trammell was dismissed on April 2.
"I am absolutely positive Steven Trammell is innocent," said Paul Sutton, Trammell's attorney. "I am also absolutely convinced the Department of Human Service's investigator violated my client's constitutional rights by not invoking his right to remain silent and have his attorney present. That is why charges are dismissed."
Trammell was accused of killing his 3-month-old daughter back in January 2011. Investigators believe the baby was injured while the mother was out buying diapers. Investigators said when she got back the father was using a suction bulb trying to suck something out the baby's mouth.
The parents drove the infant to Unity Hospital in Shawnee and she was rushed to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City where she later died. Doctors there called police. Trammell was arrested a few days later.

Court papers say the baby had a skull fracture, both tibias fractured and a femur fracture. Prosecutors say it was the result of being hit in the head and believed consistent with child abuse.
