Some of the worst tree damage in Norman was found in and around Andrews Park near City Hall.
Everywhere you looked was an example of just how powerful tornadic winds can be. Large trees that used to provide shade are now toppled on their sides, and in pieces. Those who were here right before the storm hit have quite a story to tell.
Families living nearby took shelter where they could as the tornado approached. And Norman fire crews checked in with neighbors, making sure everyone was ok.
The neighbors that emerged from their homes probably realize just how lucky they were. And though they will have quite a cleanup on their hands, it could have been so much worse.
