A Bethany motorcycle group on a charity ride spanning two continents is back home safe in Oklahoma.

Harley engines roared into Bethany Wednesday, with Southern Nazarene University alumni and friends are cheering their "Miles with a Mission" buddies back home. The more than 10,000 thousand mile bike trip was bumpy to say the least.

"Well it's been a long time. We started last year and on the fourth day I had a very serious accident and nearly died," SNU alum Doug Eaton said.

"We put off finishing the trip by a year," SNU Alum Brad Moore said.

Other members of the team went ahead with the ride and have had time to recuperate from traveling.

"We drove down from KC and met them in Fort Worth, so this is the ending how it was supposed to be a year ago."

About five and a half weeks ago, Eaton and Moore flew back to Argentina to pick up their bikes where they left off. Wednesday was the last leg of the long tiring trip from South America back to Bethany.

Both men say that seeing the view from a Harley, meeting new people while raising money for SNU scholarships was worth it.

"The people are so friendly," said Moore. "The stories will grow better with time."

"Yesterday we road 18 hours, 966 miles just to get to fort worth, from Pueblo, Mexico." Eaton said. "We started out as just an ole boys ‘excursion."

"I actually feel great, I'm going to ride home this afternoon another 300 miles. Got to get it home somehow," said Moore.

The "Miles with a Mission" rallied up half a million dollars for grants and scholarships for students to go to SNU. And the guys who were back already are stirring up the idea of a third trip to raise money for grants and SNU.

They're thinking of taking their Harleys to Asia, Africa or riding through the Middle East next time. To learn more about "Miles with a Mission" visit their website at www.mileswithamission.org
