Smoke and flames awakened a man at his home in Moore early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out around 5:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Twin Circle Street. The homeowner grabbed his dogs and escaped to his backyard.

Firefighters say when they arrived flames were shooting through the roof of the house. Crews doused the fire with water and had the flames under control within minutes, but the house sustained heavy damage.
