Animal welfare advocates are outraged that the McClain County District Attorney has yet to press any charges against the owner of a storage building where dozens of dogs were found.

Their complaints stem from a case where rescuers found three dozen abandoned dogs in a storage building without food or water.

Even after demanding justice for the dogs, the animal advocates say the DA has not pressed charges.

"This is the exact type of person that just skates under the system and nothing gets done and yet animals continue to suffer," said Christy Counts, of the Central Oklahoma Humane Society.

McClain County District Attorney spokesman Josh McGoldrick contacted News 9 shortly before news time to say that the investigation into the case is still pending and no decision has been made yet, whether or not to file charges.

McGoldrick says they are still awaiting reports from the sheriff's office.

The woman responsible for the puppies was believed to be operating a puppy mill.
