Administrators decided to cancel classes Wednesday and Thursday at Madill Elementary School after several students and staff members became sick from a mysterious cause.
Madill Superintendent John Tuck says the students and staff began complaining of nausea, dizziness and fatigue on Wednesday. Officials evacuated the school and called for ambulances.
Tuck says paramedics checked approximately 30 people. Some were taken to hospitals.
The Madill Fire Department found no sign of a gas leak or carbon monoxide poisoning, so it's not yet known what caused the illnesses. While the school is closed on Thursday, state health officials plan to investigate and disinfect the building.
