Former Putnam City Spanish Teacher Charged With Rape
OKLAHOMA CITY - A former Putnam City Spanish teacher is charged with raping a student.
Lisa Kays was charged with three counts of rape in the second degree and three counts of forcible oral sodomy. Kays is accused of having an affair with a 17-year-old boy who was part of the Spanish Club.
Putnam City Campus Police arrested Lisa Kays on Monday, February 13. Accusations against Kays first surfaced February 8, when someone called in a tip to a school hotline.
The district removed the teacher from her classroom the next day and launched an investigation. Police and administrators interviewed the alleged victim and multiple students.
During the investigation, police learned only one student was involved, and that there were encounters between Kays and the student inside the school building, after hours.
