Pregnant Woman Crashes Off Southwest OKC Highway To Street Below

A pregnant woman is all right after her car crashed through a guardrail and tumbled down an embankment in southwest Oklahoma City Monday morning.

David Rynda, the woman's father, said the family lives in California but was in Oklahoma for a family reunion. He told News 9 a truck cut off his daughter on Interstate 44 near S.W. 29th Street. She swerved, crashed through a guardrail and down an embankment near an overpass. The car came to a stop when it smashed into a stop sign.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and paramedics quickly arrived and pulled the woman from the wreckage. She was rushed to the hospital. Rynda said his daughter is six-and-a-half months pregnant, but doctors said she and her unborn baby are fine.

"We're really blessed. The baby and my daughter are okay, and that's what matters."

There's no word what happened to the driver who cut off Rynda's daughter.
