OKLAHOMA CITY -- A fine dining staple in downtown Oklahoma City is closing its doors for good at the end of the month.
Trattoria il Centro has been open since 2005, and is one of the more popular restaurants downtown. However, their owners say the city's mishandling of the Project 180 downtown makeover is forcing them to close.
They say because nearby city streets have been torn up for months, customers are staying away from downtown. And they say they can no longer afford the financial hit.
Project 180 construction was supposed to be finished four months ago.
"It just seems like maybe they would have been more organized, start something, finish…backbone of America I think, and it hasn't played well with Project 180 at all," said Trattoria il Centro spokesperson, Christine Dowd.
Trattoria il Centro isn't the only downtown restaurant closing. The owner of the nearby Pizza Town says Project 180 will force him to close his doors in two weeks.
