Four juveniles and one Claremore teen were arrested for stealing cigarettes and candy from Foyil stores, according to the Rogers County Sheriff's Office.

The Okie-Mart and Smokie Dokie were both robbed at about 1 a.m. on two different days this week. Surveillance video showed a group of young people going into both stores earlier in the day without buying anything.

Sheriff's deputies linked the kids to a complaint they'd had on Sunday at a Foyil home, involving five young people. Deputies returned to the residence after reviewing the tapes and confirmed that the same group was involved.

Authorities say the juveniles were using a scanner app on their phones to keep up with the deputies.

The four juveniles were sent to a detention center while the 18-year-old, Billy Aaron Lowther, was taken to the Rogers County Jail. Lowther was booked on complaints of second-degree burglary, unlawful use of a police radio, possession of stolen property and causing or encouraging a minor to commit a felony.

Police say no money was stolen, just candy and cigarettes.

Sheriff Scott Walton praised his deputies for the good interoffice communication between shifts that led to the arrests.
