More than a dozen nursing and education students and faculty members from ORU are getting ready for a special spring break trip to work with orphaned children in Haiti.

Many of the kids are special needs and were abandoned after the earthquake. The faculty says the trip is a great way for the students to put their education to the test.

"So as they're learning skills, ability, and knowledge we can utilize those to help people in the world that are very disadvantaged and Haiti is one of those places that's extremely disadvantaged," said Debi Lammert of ORU's School of Nursing.

The group leaves Monday morning and returns home the following Sunday.
