Police need the public's help in tracking down the person who killed 65-year-old Monretta Olden.

Monretta Olden was most likely in bed when someone shot up her Windemere Avenue home Friday. Her daughter estimates her mother bled to death and was discovered 12 hours after the shooting.

The family says the retired bus driver had no known enemies.

"I never see her bother anybody," neighbor Larry Gillum said.

People on Windemere said Olden loved to garden and exercise.

"She was a nice young lady. Nobody knows what happened but the good lord, I really don't know what came down. I just know when I got home they had it all blocked off," neighbor Mr. Gains said.

Olden's daughters were too shaken up to talk on camera. They fear retaliation since the person who killed their mother is still on the run. But people in the neighborhood aren't scared.

"It don't make me nervous. I just keep my hand in Jesus' hand. It don't make me nervous. Hope they find out who did it that all I know," Gains said.

Police aren't saying much and are turning to the public for answers. Meanwhile, Olden's neighbors point out the woman who lived here alone for years was loved, respected and will be missed.

Olden had three daughters and 14 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are still being made.

Police have not arrested anyone in this case. If you have information, call the Homicide tip-line at (405)-297-1200.
