A strong outing from the Oklahoma State pitching staff kept the LSU offense in check, helping the Cowgirls avoid a three-game losing streak Sunday, knocking off the Tigers 1-0 in extras to close out The Preview.

Simone Freeman started the game for the Cowgirls, pitching the first 5.1 innings of the game, giving up just four hits and one walk, striking out four, but coming away with a no-decision. Kat Espinosa came in and pitched 4.2 innings, taking it to extras, giving up just two hits and walking one, striking out four of the 18 batters she faced to receive the win.

Oklahoma State scored the only run of the game after nine full innings and the top of the 10th, playing small ball and capitalized on LSU mistakes.

Chelsea Garcia hit a leadoff single, advanced to second thanks to a bunt single from freshman Shelby Davis and reaching third via a sacrifice bunt from Tarah Ettinger with just one out on the board. In the next at-bat, Hannah Bowen hit the ball back to second base, who couldn't handle it and allowed Garcia to score and win the game.

The Cowgirls will take two days off before heading to Tulsa, taking on the Golden Hurricane at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
