The Tactical Team with Blackwell Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant Monday morning and found not only drugs and cash, but a young child staying in the house.

Police searched the home in the 300 block of W. Florence Avenue and discovered a large amount of crystal methamphetamine, along with $5,000 in cash and drug-making equipment. The house was just two blocks away from a park.

Police arrested two men they found in the home; 63-year-old Mickey Ray Schnell and 32-year-old Lonnie Leon Easter. Investigators said both men told them they did not have jobs and sold drugs for a living. According to police, the men also revealed large quantities of drugs were shipped to them from out of state through delivery services.

Police removed the child from the house and took Schnell and Easter to jail. They were booked on complaints of child endangerment, and drug possession with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a public park.

Both men may also face charges of trafficking methamphetamine. Police say they could make additional arrests in the case as they continue to investigate.
