Westbound I-40 is down to one lane between I-35 at the Dallas Junction and Classen Blvd.

A 2 foot by 2 foot hole is in the center lane of the bridge just east of Classen Blvd. forcing the westbound lanes to narrow.

The closure is expected to last through the evening rush hour as crews make repairs. Drivers are strongly urged to use an alternate route, such as I-44 or I-240.

This is the second hole on the crosstown in a week. Another hole opened up last Friday.

The old crosstown will close Sunday as the new westbound lanes open for traffic.
