Despite some snow covered and slushy roads, the metro school districts went on with school, and that got a lot of people talking.
Patsy from Watonga writes: "..if one bus had been involved in a bad accident and children would have been hurt, 'we are sorry' would not have been sufficient."
Kristion says: "..this am was just to much of a risk.
Had I children in school I would have made call they had snow day.."
Mike in Yukon: "Roads were not bad. Good call to have school."
But Merritt from Edmond counters: "High school drivers on even just one little slick spot=dangerous."
Terri in Mustang: "My school had 100 absent students…"
Sallie, a teacher says: "1/3 of my students were gone. I had to hold off on teaching some important material.."
From Phil: "Media over reach on this one, watching the shocked anchor this am at the call to not close the OKC schools was almost laughable."
Jimmy from Edmond: "Give them the day off and they would have just slept in. Once up, they would have spent the day in the computer. You might have found 1 snowman in the entire neighborhood, and nobody out sledding."
Finally, Tami from Edmond says: "They completely and totally deserved a day off. So I let my children stay home and watch movies all day. Ha."
