A fugitive is now in custody after he initially escaped from Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies, despite being hit with a taser.

Carter Hickerson, 28, was wanted for violation of a deferred sentence and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were serving an arrest warrant for Hickerson around 11 a.m. Friday, at a house located in the 3300 block of S.E. 21st Street in Del City.

Hickerson ran out the back door and deputies struck him with a taser, but he was still able to get away.

At around 12:15 p.m. deputies received information that a suspicious man was hiding in a house, located in the 3300 block of S.E. 20th Street in Del City. Deputies then searched the house with a K-9 and found Hickerson hiding in a clothes dryer.

Authorities took Hickerson into custody and he is currently being booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
