A grandmother and another man pleaded guilty Wednesday for their roles in the abuse of a 5-year-old girl who was forced to live in a closet and weighed just 19 pounds when she was found.
An Oklahoma Department of Human Services worker found the malnourished child at an Oklahoma City home in July 2011. The girl's mother, Aesusena Gonzales pleaded guilty to abuse and neglect in November and was sentenced to 20 years in jail.

Aesusena's mother, Maria Gonzales, waived her right to a jury trial. In an Oklahoma County courtroom Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to enabling child abuse and agreed to a deferred sentence. She will be on probation and if she does not violate any terms of the probation, the charge will be dropped from her record.
Sergio Almeida was also living in the house when the abuse occurred. He also pleaded guilty Wednesday to enabling child abuse and agreed to a five-year suspended sentence. He will receive credit for time served, and the child abuse conviction will stay on his record.
