The Oklahoma womens basketball team, led by freshman Sharane Campbell, left Lawrence with a narrow 74-68 win over the No. 25 Kansas Jayhawks Tuesday night.

Campbell paced Oklahoma all night and tallied a career-high 23 points on the evening while in overtime she came up with the final 3-pointer and blocked shot to seal the Sooner victory.

With 12 seconds left in regulation, Campbell hit two free throws to put OU on top 64-61. Kansas in bounded the ball and raced down the court to find Monica Engelman for a 3-pointer to tie the game with five seconds left. OU missed a final forced shot which sent the game to overtime.

In the extra period Oklahoma outscored the Jayhawks 10-4 after Campbell scored half of OU's points and blocked a final shot attempt by the Jayhawks to seal the victory.

The entire game was back and forth between the two teams. In the opening half the teams exchanged baskets up until the 12 minute mark when the Jayhawks hit two jumpers and a 3-pointer to take a 17-10 lead.

Oklahoma responded on both ends of the floor and built a 9-0 run to eventually take back the lead. During that run the Sooner defense held KU to more than seven minutes without a basket.

Kansas (16-5, 5-4) dominated the boards in the opening portion of the game, out-rebounding the Sooners 10-4 early on. That would quickly change as OU came back to take the lead and at the break with the Sooners leading the rebounding category 18-17.

The undeniable difference for Oklahoma in the game was points off the bench. In the first half OU had 12 points off the bench and was scored 18 points down low to the Jayhawks eight. Campbell scored six of those off the bench points for OU while KU tallied only four points from non-starters in the first half.

KU's Angel Goodrich nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to give the Jayhawks a narrow 27-25 advantage at halftime.

In the second, Kansas came out firing with an early 9-3 run to go up 36-28 but the Sooners wouldn't back down.

The Sooners stepped the offensive output and eventually tied the game once again at 42. Kansas extended its lead in the second to as many as nine points, but once again the Sooners refused to back down. With less than three minutes left, Oklahoma cut the lead to 57-59 and took the lead on their first 3-point basket of the game from Morgan Hook.

The Sooners 3-point shooting was its worst of the season as they netted only two-of-ten from behind the arc all evening.

In the overtime period Hook also hit a jumper that helped OU in its final push for the win.

The play of the Sooner bench was huge as Campbell scored 23 of the 35 bench points on the night while Jelena Cerina added eight and DaShawn Harden tallied four.

The loss for Kansas is its second in a row even though the team broke into the Coaches Poll this week at No. 25. Three Jayhawks managed double digits on the night as KU was led by Goodrich with 17 points followed by Carolyn Davis with 17 and Engelman with 11.

The Sooners shot 47.5 percent on the night to Kansas' 38.2. Despite tallying 19 turnovers, OU made up for it in the paint with 46 of their 74 points coming from down low.

Hand added 16 points for the Sooners while Hook finished with 11.

Oklahoma (14-6, 6-3) returns to action Saturday in the second Bedlam matchup of the season as the OSU Cowgirls travel to Norman for a 12 p.m. tipoff.
