NCAA Clears Metoyer And McNamara To Enroll At OU

Trey Metoyer and Taylor McNamara have been cleared by the NCAA to enroll at Oklahoma.

The NCAA clearing house has reportedly cleared high school standouts Trey Metoyer and Taylor McNamara to enroll at Oklahoma.

ESPN's David Smoak first reported that Metoyer's clearance while McNamara announced the news Wednesday evening via his personal Twitter page (@tmcnamara88) saying "CLEARED."

Metoyer, a wide receiver, signed with OU last year but had to take fall classes last semester in order to qualify for OU.

The Whitehouse, Texas native was the No. 8 overall receiver in the country last year. In high school he tallied 259 career receptions making him second all-time in Texas high school history.

McNamara, a tight end from San Diego was ready to enroll at OU in the spring, but was told one of this high school classes had been flagged and had to be looked at by the NCAA.McNamara then had to provide additional paperwork to prove his high school completion.

Rivals.com ranks McNamara as the No. 7 tight end in the nation and the 6-foot-5, 235 pound tight end ranked 15th in the state of California. He had more than 20 offers from colleges across the country.

The Sooners will hold a free webcast at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 where fans can experience the signing day events live. Head coach Bob Stoops and the OU coaching staff will be on hand to talk about the new singing class as they sign national letters of intent.
