Some Blanchard residents are fed up by a foul odor surrounding their homes. One citizen complained the problem has been on-going for at least six months.

The smell is so strong on windy days Mike Stark has to get away.

"We leave sometimes, it gets so bad," Stark said.

Stark said sewage is being dumped into the creek behind his home and has nowhere to go.

"With no rains now it's been stagnate so it's just sitting there," Stark said.

He blames the business owner behind him. But the owner said it can't be him, he doesn't have bathrooms on the property. The owner did let News 9 onto his property. We found where the sewage has been seeping into the creek.

Homeowners have reported the problem to the city of Blanchard.

"We were told they would look into it and that's as far as it's gotten," Stark said.

The Blanchard city manager said city crews checked it out last Friday.

"Crews tracked some discharge in a creek to a manhole on the city sewer system. That manhole was surcharging, which basically means the sewer line was stopped up and fluid was backing up through the manhole," City Manager Jeff Bishop said.

Crews found a large amount of grease in the line and cleaned it out. The city manager said the problem has been reported to the Department of Environmental Quality.
