The Edmond Police Department is asking residents to be on the lookout for a suspicious van seen possibly following children as they get off a school bus in their neighborhoods in Edmond.

The Edmond School Transportation Department has received two calls from concerned parents regarding this van.  One call was placed on Tuesday, January 17th and the other call was made on Friday, January 13th.

Both calls stated the same information, the van driver reportedly watches as a child gets off the school bus, then drives very slowly behind them until they get home.

The driver of the van has not said anything to the children or tried to approach them, but this is definitely a concern to the children and their parents.

The van and driver description varies a bit in the two incidents.  The call on Tuesday, January 17th reported the van was seen in the Coffee Creek addition on Birdsong.

The van was described as white or gray with blue lettering with the number 784 written on the back, possibly part of a phone number.  The driver was described as a white male in his late 30's with a beard.

The call on Friday, January 13th reported the van was seen in the Pebble Creek addition on Jordan.  The van was described as a gray van with black lettering and the driver was described as a white male in his early 20's with no facial hair.

Edmond Police want the community to be aware of this situation and if you see something that looks suspicious they urge you to call 911 immediately and try to get a license plate number.

Edmond Police told News 9 that "After school hours bus routes will be receiving extra close watch by Edmond Police Officers and we hope to be able to identify this person as soon as possible. It may just be a work van with the driver looking for an address, but we want to contact the driver to clear up the matter."

The School District is also sending a letter home with students today with this information.
