Norman police arrested a Seattle, Washington man after they found $225,030 of drug proceeds in cash in the man's car during a traffic stop Tuesday.

According to the Norman Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle that was southbound on Interstate 35 in Norman for a traffic violation.

Officers said they became suspicious of other criminal activity unrelated to the traffic stop, after talking to the driver, 27-year-old Trenton Eric Iverson.

According to police, K-9 "Lux" became alerted to the vehicle as well. Officers then searched the car and found $225,030 in U.S. currency in a hidden compartment.

Norman police believe the car was used to transport proceeds from drug sales. Iverson was then arrested for possession of drug proceeds, and maintaining a vehicle where drugs are used, sold, or kept, according to police.

Police said the case is still under investigation.
