The State Medical Examiner has determined the death of an Edmond football player in October was accidental.

Edmond North High School student Ryan Smith broke his leg during football practice on Tuesday, October 11. He died the next day.

The Medical Examiner has ruled his death accidental, saying the official cause was "fracture to the right leg sequelae". A sequelae is defined as a secondary consequence or result, or a pathological condition resulting from disease.
