Oklahoma guard Steven Pledger has been named the Co-Big 12 Player of the Week after helping the Sooners to a victory over Houston in the All-College Classic over the weekend.

Pledger scored his highest regulation point total, tallying 31 points in Saturday's 79-74 win over the Cougars. He also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.

Pledger went 10-for-14 from the field and 4-for-5 from three point range. He also made all seven of his free throws and came up with two steals en route to his game MVP honor.

On the season Pledger averages 19.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. He ranks No. 1 in the nation with his .604 field goal percentage.

Among Big 12 players, he ranks No. 2 in scoring, No. 3 in 3-point field goal percentage (.512), No. 4 in field goal percentage, No. 5 in 3-pointers (2.6) and steals (1.6) per game, and No. 6 in free throw percentage (.833).

To put Pledger's .604 season field goal percentage in perspective, the highest percentage by an OU guard over the course of the last 11 seasons was .473 by Willie Warren in 2008-09.

The 6-4, 222-pound Chesapeake, Va., has scored in double figures in all of his eight contests and has shot .500 or better in seven games.

Baylor's Perry Jones III was the other Co-Player of the Week. The sophomore averaged 18 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over Bethune-Cookman and BYU.

The Sooners (8-1) return to action Wednesday hosting South Carolina State at 7 p.m. CT.
