I just love it when a bad idea falls apart.

Do you recall, last year San Francisco became the first major city to prohibit fast food restaurants from including free toys with children's meals that don't measure up to their nutritional standards.

Thank you San Francisco city leaders, because we parents are just too stupid to raise our kids without you.

It's just another case of the government meddling in our lives in a way it has no business doing.

That law goes into effect tomorrow.

Well, the guy who owns ten of the 19 McDonald's in San Francisco has outwitted city leaders.

He's stopped including the free toys with the children's meals just as the law demands.

Instead, he's charging ten cents extra for the toys.

And here's the kicker, I love this, he's going to use all the money generated by the dime surcharge to build a new Ronald McDonald House.

That's the home away from home for the families of children who are being treated in distant hospitals.

So, in a way, I guess, the San Francisco law is doing some good, just in a way they never intended.
