An Oklahoma City mother is outraged at her children's deadbeat dad. She said he was allowed to bond out of jail without having to pay the $15,000 he owes in back child support.

This single mother of four said she's been trying to get her kids dad to pay child support for the past seven years, and that he refuses to do so. She just doesn't understand why he's allowed to go free without paying a dime.

"I'm just mad, I'm done, I'm fed up," Angela Farrell said.

Angela Farrell doesn't understand why her ex husband - John Jacob Mayes - is allowed to be out of jail while he waits for his court date.

Their four children also don't understand.

"They wish that he would pay too, because their life would be a little bit better if he would," Farrell said.

A judge confirms Mayes was released on his own recognizance and placed into the care of Northcare - a group that helps the mentally ill, and has jail alternative programs for non violent offenders.

But Farrell said he's received help like this before.

"And when we left the courthouse, he looked at me and laughed and said ‘you thought you were going to put me in jail didn't you,' and turned around and walked off. There's nothing wrong with him, nothing," Farrell said.

Farrell said her ex did spend six months in jail a few years ago, and as a result, started helping out with the children.

But it was short-lived.

"Ever since then it's been a constant battle," Farrell said.

Farrell said she just never imagined that she'd be battling the system too.

"I just want everyone to know these people are helping people that don't deserve any kind of help. They're leaching off the system, they're deadbeat parents, and these people are going out of their way to help them," Farrell said.

A representative from Northcare said they do help the Oklahoma county jail with overcrowding issues.

And that anyone in their day reporting program has to check in three times a day and undergo treatment.

News 9 was told if participants in the day program miss any sessions or fail to check in, that information does get reported to the judge.

Northcare would not specifically talk about Mayes' case, but we've learned his next court date is set for next month.
