Children who live at City Rescue Mission in Oklahoma City learn the joy of giving. The kids decorated and filled 16 shoe boxes with gifts to give to other needy children who live overseas.

Each shoe box was filled with a toothbrush and toothpaste, small toys, crayons and other hygiene items. The boxes will be donated to Operation Christmas Child. According to the Samaritans Purse website, the project is the world's largest Christmas project, bringing joy and hope to needy children around the globe through these gift-filled shoe boxes.

"The kids were so excited to pick out toys and put them in the shoe boxes they decorated," said Abby Leonard, Bridge to Life Assistant Manager. "This was a great opportunity to show the kids that giving is a huge blessing. They were also really excited to share God's love."

Since 1993, more than 86 million shoe box gifts have been delivered to children in more than 130 countries, according to the Samaritans Purse website.
