Lawton Mac Dominates Ardmore To Advance To Finals

YUKON, Oklahoma -- The Lawton Macarthur Highlanders advanced to the Class 5A State Championship game Saturday with a 56-2 win over the Ardmore Tigers.

The Highlanders rolled in the contest, coming up with 22 points in the opening period and cruised to a 29-2 halftime lead over the Tigers.

However, Macarthur continued to build its lead in the third quarter, adding 20 points in third quarter thanks to its special teams running game.

Ardmore finishes the season 8-5, after knocking off Carl Albert in the opening round. The Highlanders will take on the top-ranked Guthrie Bluejays at Oklahoma State University at 11 am Saturday.
