Two people are dead in a Thanksgiving murder-suicide in northwest Oklahoma City.

Neighbors say a couple had lived in a home near N.W. 122nd and MacArthur for a couple of months before police were called there twice in the last 24 hours.

"It shakes you up, makes you nervous," said Earlene Davis, a neighbor who lives four doors down.

"We are a quiet neighborhood. Everybody minds their own business. Never had any problems in the neighborhood," she said.

Until now. Police say two calls were made from the residence in the 5900 block of Gaelic Glen Drive in the last 24 hours. The first was for a domestic dispute last night. The second was for a shooting this morning.

The police have not released the names of the individuals involved in the violence, but did say the woman had returned to the house this morning to get some of her property. It was at that time that the domestic dispute flared up and the man shot the woman.

Three children who had accompanied the woman fled the home when the fighting started. One of them called 911.

When police arrived, they found the woman lying in the hallway unresponsive. Police pulled her to safety outside the home and attempted to revive her. She died at the scene.

Upon re-entering the home they found the man in the bathroom suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Police say the children did not witness the shootings.
