One of our state's largest cities is near the top of a new list involving violent crimes.
Lawton ranks number six among the top ten cities in the nation where violent crime is on the rise.
The list was put together by 247wallst.com. It says the violent crime rate per 100,000 residents increased from 675 in 2005, to 772 in 2010 in Lawton.
The report also says while violent crime has increased in the region, law enforcement staffing has actually decreased.
