Westmoore played No. 2 Midwest City close in the opening game of the 2011 playoffs, but the Bombers were too much for the Jaguars and came away with a 21-14 win to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 6A playoffs.

After a scoreless tie through the first quarter, the Bombers' defense forced a fumble and James Flanders cracked off a 35-yard touchdown run to give MWC a 7-0 advantage 30 seconds into the second quarter.

Nearly six minutes later, Westmoore quarterback Trevor Thompson connected with Lexus Lee for a 21-yard touchdown to tie the game, a score that held until halftime.

The score remained tied again for more than eight minutes of the second quarter, until Midwest City quarterback Joel Davis found Zac Brannon for a 23-yard score to once again take a one-score lead.

With time expiring in the third quarter, the Bombers' defense came up with a 4th down stop. Just eight seconds into the fourth quarter, Ronnie Davis broke off a 35-yard touchdown run to put the Jaguars in a big hole, down 21-7.

However, less than 90 seconds later, Thompson hooked up with Dalton Craig for a 33-yard score to cut the lead back to just seven points.

Westmoore took over deep in its own territory with just 1:33 left on the clock, but Zeke Lewis picked off Thompson to put the Bombers deep in Jaguar territory. Two plays later, Flanders scored his second touchdown of the game, a six-yard run, to take a 28-14 lead and essentially close the door on a Westmoore comeback.

Flanders finished the game with 195 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries for Midwest City.

The Jaguars finish the season 7-4 after beating out PCO for the final playoff spot in their district, while Midwest City remains perfect on the season. The Bombers will now host Owasso at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the quarterfinals.
