NORMAN, Oklahoma – After the Oklahoma Sooners lost their first game in Norman since 2005, head coach Bob Stoops sat down with News9.com's Dean Blevins to discuss the disappointing performance.

Stoops said he thought his team was simply outplayed, especially in the second quarter. He admitted that Texas Tech also outcoached him, and that the Red Raiders were stronger in almost every facet of the game.

The Sooners were short a total of five starters, including middle linebacker Tom Wort and cornerback Jamell Fleming. Texas Tech picked on both areas, running the ball up the middle with repeated success and throwing deep against cornerback Gabe Lynn.

But Stoops said those injury concerns did not matter. He said the backups must be prepared to do the job that is required of them, especially when they knew ahead of time that they would be starting.

Stoops also gave credit to Texas Tech and said he thought the Red Raiders are better than most people give them credit for. He noted that Tech's two losses were both tightly contested later in the game, and that the big difference Saturday was the turnover swing.

After committing four turnovers against Kansas State the week before, Tech had zero against OU.
