STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy gets asked some hard-hitting questions in the weeks leading up to big games such as at No. 8 Texas A&M.

One of the most important questions: What did his players eat before the 12:15 a.m. kickoff against Tulsa this past weekend?

The answer: some carefully-crafted peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, courtesy of the coaches' wives.

OSU had to wait out a three-hour storm delay in the confines of a visitors' locker room at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa.

That situation comes with several challenges, such as "cabin fever" and tiredness from playing well into the morning.

But another challenge of having three unexpected pre-game hours was the hunger.

Gundy said several of the strength coaches ran to a local store to stock up on bread, peanut butter and jelly.

When they got back with the items, some of the coaches' wives were willing to go to work making sandwiches for the entire team.

Oklahoma State kicks off against Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in College Station.
