My 2 Cents: If Only Washington Could Unite Around A Common Goal

OKLAHOMA CITY -- By now you've seen the amazing video from Utah--bystanders coming together to free a man trapped under a flaming wreck.

It's amazing to watch and it prompted Donna from Edmond to write that Congress and the President should be required to watch the video together.

"Not one asked another what party they were affiliated with, or their stance on a platform.

There were people from all walks of life, men and a woman who got together and did what was necessary to save a life." Donna, Edmond

If only it were that simple Donna.

These people could all clearly agree on the way to save the victim, to lift together and get the car off of him.

Had the President and Congress been there, they would have first argued about who gets the credit for the rescue. Then some would have stood by while others tried to lift the car, all the while insisting rolling the car was the only solution, still some others would do nothing opting to wait for a tow truck.

They'd call the lifters "muscle heads", and the lifters would call the rollers "wimps". Donna, it seems difficult to imagine Washington uniting around any common goal, but it happened not that long ago, after 9/11.

Maybe it will happen again.
