NORMAN, Oklahoma – When your team is No. 1 in the nation, played well in the first week and has a bye week upcoming, you deserve to relax a bit.

OU coach Bob Stoops was more at ease than usual in his weekly press conference and discussed a number of topics.

Stoops took the opportunity to talk about some non-game issues, including the realignment of the Big 12.

One of the most interesting pieces of information came when Stoops gave his thoughts on what would happen to the Red River Rivalry if OU and Texas parted ways.

"I don't think it's necessary," Stoops said. "I know no one wants to hear that, but life changes. If it changes you've got to change with it."

Stoops also discussed a number of other issues – some pressing and some not as important – including which 300-pound lineman can do a back flip and what his plans for the bye weekend are.

News 9's Dean Blevins was in Norman to get all the latest information from the OU press conference.
